Sigora Healthcare manages billing and account recovery for many healthcare providers within our network. In certain cases, we assist in the administration and collection of outstanding medical balances related to a deceased patient’s estate.
If you’ve received a notice, it may be part of the estate’s standard claims process — a routine step required by law before final distribution of estate assets.
Please note that in most cases, estate medical obligations arise either from (1) medical or dental services not covered by insurance, or (2) coinsurance, copay, or deductible portions that remained unpaid after insurance adjudication. In the case of dental services, insurance may only cover a portion of the cost or exclude certain procedures entirely.
Some estate-related claims are handled directly by Sigora Healthcare, while others may be managed by one of our affiliated law firm partners specializing in estate collections. For any questions or verification, please refer to the contact information provided in your notice or reach our estate recovery billing team at estate.recovery@sigorahealth.com.
